There is one entity called pseudocyesis. It actually means false pregnancy.
When a woman strongly wants to become a mother ,and that is not possible due to some medical reasons.
Then in some women the body changes such that the whole body becomes almost like body of a pregnant women ,but the womb is without baby
This is another example, how mind influences body.
All drugs before being marketed, are subjected to clinical trials. In these trials subjects (patients ) are divided in to two groups. One group is given actual medicine and the other group is given a dummy.
But it is kept secret from both the groups .
Finally the response from the patients is analysed and then the efficacy of the particular medicine is assessed .
In these trials interesting thing to note is many patients who have received a dummy medicine also show a positive response and feel good .
The medicine is approved only if the number of patients who received the actual medicine and who have become better far exceeds the number of patients who have become better with dummy medicine .
In conclusion placebo effect is the positive effect shown in a person who takes medicine thinking that he will be alright .
Placebo effect is really a wonderful phenomenon and this is abused by so many pharmaceutical companies claiming so many beneficial effects by their products .Most of these work by placebo effect
HI

Friends , sometimes the perception of pain in one particular part and location in our body is very likely and rather subconsciously due to our repetitive exposure to a particular painful condition in our parents, friends or relatives .
The onset of such pains typically follows such and such exposure.
Examples: Most common is chest pain in persons who recently saw a person with heart attack
Pain involving one side of the body in persons who have witnessed paralytic stroke

Sometimes it’s a wonderful experience to learn to see things which we thought not possible .
I came across one such person from whom I learned that the mind can greatly influence the energy levels of our physical body.
In 2010, when I was working in Chennai, one fine morning a person came to me complaining predominant and generalised weakness which compelled him to quit his highly paid IT job. He was looking very healthy and neuro examination was absolutely normal. So I did lab tests which showed low levels of vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels .These deficiencies are now a days rampant among population and I gave treatment for whole 3 months and eagerly waiting for improvement .
To my dismay there was absolutely no improvement and hence as a last resort started anti depressant medication with second opinion from a senior neurologist.
Lo. ..In a 4 WK period the person returned to me with full energy levels and also with a new job offer .
This particular person made me learn that not all people express that they are worried ,and that they are sad and that it’s the role of the doctor to think about the possibility and treat the persons accordingly for their welfare

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
